The Detroit Lions find themselves in a tough situation at running back as injuries and other health concerns are creating a bit of a mess in their backfield. There are some concerns in Jahvid Best's inner circle that he should sit out the rest of the season due to the multiple concussions he has suffered. Best suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the 49ers , the second in three months.
Best is expected to miss some amount of time with the current concussion, whether it be one week or the rest of the season. However long he is out, Maurice Morris would get the bulk of the carries in his place and would be the fantasy play moving forward. While not a fantastic option, he could be a decent flex option in that offense.
The Lions had made a trade for Eagles backup running back Jerome Harrison to the Eagles. That trade was voided however when . Had he not been traded the physical would not have happened and the tumor would not have been discovered so quickly. The trade very well might have saved his life.
With Harrison now on the shelf and Best out indefinitely, the Lions are looking at Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams as their two primary running backs. The Lions will work out some running backs to find a third option, but for now Morris is the guy you would want to pick up for fantasy purposes.
