NFL fantasy football: Antonio Brown s prospects rising

Feeling green: New York Jets corner back Darrelle Revis against the Pittsburgh Steelers by coach Rex Ryan on Friday. The news could mean big things for wide receiver Antonio Brown. Assuming the other Antonio- Jets corner Antonio Cromartie is charged with trailing Mike Wallace all afternoon, it will be on fourth-year man Kyle Wilson to line up against Brown. Wilson has only started 13 games in his career, so being charged with keeping up with the speedy wideout could be a tough task. Brown amassed 74 yards on just four catches in Week 1, so expect him to build off that performance and take advantage of the match up. Fantasy owners should have full confidence starting him as your No 2 WR this week.

Bad news Bear: Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte in Thursday night s loss to the Green Bay Packers. NFL.com s Ian Rapoport noted a source close to the team stated they do not have an official timetable for his return. Fantasy owners who selected the talented back were hopefully wise enough to handcuff him with Michael Bush, who is expected to carry the load in Forte s absence. The Louisville product stated he is ready to pick up where Forte left off if called upon. In 2011, Bush carried racked up 1,395 total yards to go with eight touchdowns, most of that work done while Darren McFadden was sidelined with injury. Until Forte returns, consider Bush a viable No. 2 RB option.

Easing back in: San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews returned to practice yesterday after being cleared for contact. Per Kevin Acee of the U- T San Diego, Mathews also since breaking his clavicle August 9th. Fantasy owners will need to keep close tabs on his status, which is not likely to be confirmed until before kickoff. It s likely the team will ease Mathews back into action, so even if he does start, temper expectations on his potential. Look for other alternatives on your roster.
